GameDrive

Every drive mapped. Every sighting remembered. A reel before dinner.

Mark the exact spot where you see each animal and learn about it in GameDrive’s built-in wildlife guide. Record your route as you go, revisit earlier drives and sightings on the map, and watch a first-cut film back at camp—all for free.

On a three-night safari you’ll head out six times or more. By the third morning the tracks start to look the same. Did we come this way yesterday? Wasn’t it near here we saw the cheetah?

GameDrive keeps the answer on your phone.

Know where you’ve been.

Start a drive and GameDrive draws your route on the map as you go, even with the phone locked in your pocket. When your guide stops for a lion, log the sighting and it is pinned exactly where it happened.

Next morning, your routes and sightings from the past week are there on the map. See which tracks you’ve already covered, which you haven’t tried, and where the animals were last time.

  • Log a sighting in two taps, with an offline wildlife guide to search
  • Long, bumpy drives recorded reliably, with pause and resume
  • Every drive kept: route, distance, time and what you saw
  • Drives survive the app closing and pick up where they stopped
The Safari map before a morning drive, showing the past week's routes and every wildlife sighting pinned where it happened.
Look up the animals you encounter in GameDrive’s wildlife guide.

Be ready for the light.

Before you leave camp, see where the sun will rise and how it will cross the sky, hour by hour, on the same map as your drive. Slide through the day to plan where to be at golden hour.

With a Safari Pass or GameDrive Forever, GameDrive suggests a starting point for your camera settings, whether it’s a cheetah at full stretch, a roller on a branch or a herd in low evening light, based on your own camera and lens.

  • Sunrise and sunset directions, and the sun’s position at any time of day
  • Weather where available
  • Species profiles with identification notes, behaviour and photography tips
  • Wildlife guides for 51 major parks built in, with seasonal reports elsewhere
Plan the light before your drive, with the sun’s direction and a time slider on the map.

Share the drive, not just the photos.

When you finish, a first cut is already waiting. Your vehicle rolls through a gate carrying the park’s real name, the camera rises over the map, and your route draws itself across the landscape with each sighting where it happened.

Watch that first cut free. A Safari Pass or GameDrive Forever unlocks every reel option and lets you create, save and share the video.

Add your best photos and GameDrive places them on the route, using where and when you took them. Change the look or leave it as it is, save it to Photos, and post it to Instagram or TikTok before dinner. It’s a story of your drive that nobody else can tell.

Your drive’s film opens with a vehicle passing through the Naboisho Conservancy gate.
Your route and sightings become a film, ready to save to Photos and share from camp.

Make it yours.

A Safari Pass or GameDrive Forever includes all the choices below. Preview each change before you save.

Choosing how the reel opens: a park gate, a zoom from Africa, your car, or straight to the map.
Choosing the reel's map: savanna, green season, dusk, night or satellite.
How it opens
Your car drives through a timber park gate with the park’s name on the beam; or a “where in the world” opening starts on Africa and zooms down to your drive; or your own car pulls up on a savanna track under your title; or go straight onto the map. You can rewrite the words on the gate.
The map and the time of day
Savanna, green season, dusk, night or real satellite imagery.
Your vehicle
Paint it forest green, sand, red or blue, and show it from above or side-on.
Your route
Draw it in gold, coral, blue, mint or white.
The camera
Follow the car close, at a middle distance or from far away, or show the whole route at once.
Shape and length
Portrait for Reels and TikTok, or landscape; a 10-second highlight, a 20-second wildlife story, a 45-second full adventure, or an exact length you choose.
Your photos
Place them on the route by where and when you took them, with captions, cropping and a slow zoom. If your camera’s clock was off, adjust it once and every photo moves to the right place.
Words on screen
Your title, the date and start time, and five lettering styles: Classic, Field journal, Expedition, Sketchbook and Soft. Add signs on the map, such as “Lions!”, where you want them. End on trip stats (distance, time and sightings) and the animals you saw.
Privacy
Hide your camp at the start and finish, and hide any other place you’d rather not show.

Private by design.

Your drives, sightings and notes stay on your iPhone. There is no account, advertising or tracking. Wildlife requests send only an area about 20–40 km across, never your precise position. Optional anonymous usage counts can be turned off in Settings.

Camera advice is a starting point, not a guarantee. Weather is supporting information and must not be used for safety decisions. Always follow your guide and the park's rules.
