How does the Safari Pass work?

GameDrive is free to download. Recording drives, logging sightings, earlier routes and sightings on the map, the wildlife guide, sun planning, weather and first-cut film playback need no purchase.

A Safari Pass costs US$1.99 and unlocks creating and saving films with every reel option, satellite maps and the camera advisor for 30 days from purchase. It never renews, so there’s nothing to cancel. Buying another while one is active adds 30 days.

GameDrive Forever costs US$4.99, with one payment for the same features and no time limit.

To move a purchase to a new iPhone, sign in with the same Apple Account and tap Settings → Restore purchases in GameDrive. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.

What happens when a Safari Pass ends?

The free features remain available. Buy another pass whenever you need the extras for another trip, or choose GameDrive Forever for access with no time limit.

My route stopped recording when the phone was locked

Allow location While Using the App for GameDrive in iOS Settings, start the drive inside the app, and don’t force-quit it while recording. If iOS ends the app, the drive picks up where it stopped when you reopen it. Low Power Mode and poor GPS signal can thin the route.

The video won’t save to Photos

Check that a Safari Pass or GameDrive Forever is active, then allow GameDrive to add to your photo library in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos. Make sure there is free storage. Exports keep running if you switch apps briefly.

My photos don’t appear on the route

Photos are placed using their capture time and location. Photos without a location are shown in time order. If your camera’s clock was off, adjust the time correction when adding photos.

The park name on the gate is wrong

The sign text can be edited before you make the video. GameDrive names the park from map data, or the nearest well-known place when there is no park.

I don’t want to show where I’m staying

Turn on Hide start and finish before you make the video.

Location or weather is unavailable

Check that GameDrive has location permission While Using the App in iOS Settings. Weather requires a connection and may not be available for every place or time. If location or weather still does not appear, email us with your iPhone model, iOS version and what you see.

The compass direction looks wrong

Move away from magnets, speakers, vehicle electronics and large metal surfaces. Hold the phone in the direction you intend to photograph and allow the heading to settle. If heading is unavailable, place a target on the map instead.

My gear is missing

Email the exact maker, model, mount and any teleconverter or adapter. Unsupported gear can use clearly labelled generic guidance while it is reviewed.

Wildlife results are missing or out of date

Nearby results reflect aggregate citizen-science reporting, not a complete inventory. Check the active location, radius and animal-group filter, then retry with a connection. Cached guides show their update date. Search can still find a species globally when it has not been reported nearby.

A species image is missing

GameDrive displays only images with complete CC0 or CC BY attribution. A species remains searchable and uses a placeholder when no eligible image is available.

Advice does not match my camera

Confirm the active body, mounted lens, focal length, experience level and automatic-setting preferences. Include your camera firmware version in your message. Recommendations are starting points; verify your camera’s actual menu terminology and exposure in the field.
