Location or weather is unavailable
Open Safari Camera Settings and choose Open Location Settings. Allow location while using the app, then return to Location and tap Retry. Apple Weather provides forecasts for approximately the next ten days; sun planning remains available beyond that.
The compass direction looks wrong
Move away from magnets, speakers, vehicle electronics, and large metal surfaces. Hold the phone in the direction you intend to photograph and allow the heading to settle. If heading is unavailable, place a target on the map instead.
My gear is missing
Use Request missing gear in the Gear tab or email the exact maker, model, mount, and any teleconverter or adapter. Unsupported gear can use clearly labelled generic guidance while it is reviewed.
Wildlife results are missing or out of date
Nearby results reflect aggregate citizen-science reporting, not a complete inventory. Check the active location, radius, and animal-group filter, then retry with a connection. Cached guides show their update date. Search can still find a species globally when it has not been reported nearby.
A species image is missing
Safari Camera displays only images with complete CC0 or CC BY attribution. A species remains searchable and uses a placeholder when no eligible image is available.
Advice does not match my camera
Confirm the active body, mounted lens, focal length, experience level, and automatic-setting preferences. Include the camera firmware version in your message. Recommendations are starting points; verify the camera's actual menu terminology and exposure in the field.
